NAPLAN doesn't test anything your child hasn't already learned at school — but the format, timing and online delivery can still catch students off guard the first time they sit it. NAPLAN tutoring is about closing that gap: familiarity with the test itself, timed practice, and enough confidence that results reflect what a student actually knows.
What is NAPLAN?
NAPLAN (the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) is sat by students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 across Australia, typically in March. It's delivered online for most students and covers four domains:
- Reading — comprehension of a range of text types.
- Writing — a single piece, usually narrative or persuasive depending on the year.
- Language Conventions — spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Numeracy — number, algebra, measurement, geometry, statistics and probability, matched to year level.
Results are reported to schools and families later in the year, showing how a student is tracking against national proficiency standards for their year level.
